When it comes to reincarnation, I have little scientific proof, but I have a few theories. I believe that those who have past lives do sometimes meet others in past lives on multiple occasions. I do believe that my partner and I met as lovers on different occasions in the past. Particularly, the Breton and Russian ones I had. Me and my current lover remember being paired in those lives. Ruth Kapp Hartz, whose courage and strength helped her endure the horrors of the Holocaust and rebuild a life after tragedy, spoke recently at Bucks. Through her stories, we gain insight into the past and deepen our understanding of humanity and justice. Hartz is the subject of the book “Your Name is Renée: Ruth Kapp Hartz’s Story as a Hidden Child in Nazi-Occupied France” by Stacy Cretzmeyer, and she gave a talk on Nov. 13 at the Newtown campus. In the coming weeks there will be two events celebrating the legacy of Thaddeus Stevens to be followed by the grand opening of the new museum about Stevens in Lancaster, PA on May 1 and 2. This past Tuesday I purchased a crystal ball in Shippensburg. I observed an unsightly visage who introduced himself as Smooth Melvin, Lord of the Earth's Mantle, which is green. Cheers to 30

"The 29th year is one I won’t forget,
It’s the year of becoming and shedding,
It's the year before the next milestone is about to tackle me,
and you wonder...
What exactly do I look forward to?
Thankful and blessed to wake up with air in my lungs,
But my brain is filled with doubt,
body tense and numb to the world around me,
a world I do not recognize anymore, or maybe I finally decided to stop being so naive and toss the rose-colored lenses into the abyss.
The 29th year is something I can’t forget,
when you go through hell and back and back and back and back,
Your next milestone finally seems like the break you need,
the clarity to finally breathe,
But what if?
What if 30 is a repeat of the past? You know the saying.
“History is bound to repeat itself.”
What if I repeat the 20’s in my 30’s but in a different font?
Have I really matured and wised up enough to throw a middle finger to my 20’s and enter my 30’s with the finger followed by the second middle finger,
A double F you to the past me, and a warm, funny welcome to the new me?
Wow... listen to me, a crazy, dramatic way of me saying,
30’s scare me, but I’m resilient to face the unknown,
sometimes the best events happened unplanned,
Placing expectations on how things are supposed to go,
but freak out when it changes,
I hate change sometimes, but change is good,
It’s mandatory for elevation.

Great Again?

Hitler cast the bait, “Make Germany great again”, and the people bit. For a while it seemed to work, but they confused “dominant” with “great”, and then they started losing the war and Germany was destroyed. The trumpet blew his horn and played that old sour song, updated the map, and sold “Make America great again”, copied the plan, promised peace, and then started wars, surprising nobody who was paying attention. It’s a disaster, of course, but I think people are underestimating the damage. The greatness in our time grew out of World War II, when most of the “developed” world was in smoldering ruins but America escaped destruction largely due to the blessing of remoteness (two oceans prevented easy attacks) and the industrial development that occurred in the first half of the 20th century. We had learned to build everything we needed and we had the required resources. When the war ended, America was uniquely situated to rebuild the world; not just the infrastructure, but the political climate as well. The Marshall Plan, possibly the best investment in the history of the world, gained us not only favor among the nations of the world, but leverage, as we could ...
